# (it's probably better to not load these drivers manually, but instead # Use hot-plugged devices like Bluetooth or USB automatically (LP: #1702794) Load-module module-switch-on-port-available # Should be after module-*-restore but before module-*-detect # Automatically augment property information from. # Automatically restore the volume of streams and devices # This startup script is used only if PulseAudio is started per-user # You should have received a copy of the GNU Lesser General Public License # General Public License for more details. # MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. # WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY without even the implied warranty of # PulseAudio is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but # the Free Software Foundation either version 2 of the License, or # under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License as published by # PulseAudio is free software you can redistribute it and/or modify it So, I tried using an unmodified default.pa file and adding the the chrome-remote-desktop code to it: #!/usr/bin/pulseaudio -nF Unfortunately, I no longer have local audio and all my regular audio devices are missing. When I add this file to ~/.config/pulse I have an audio device called "~/.config/chrome-remote-desktop/pulseaudio#ff31e90cfd/fifo_output" which will send sound over chrome-remote-desktop. Load-module module-pipe-sink sink_name=chrome_remote_desktop_session file="~/.config/chrome-remote-desktop/pulseaudio#ff31e90cfd/fifo_output" rate=48000 channels=2 format=s16le I discovered that there is a default.pa file in ~/.config/chrome-remote-desktop/pulseaudio#ff31e90cfd containing: load-module module-native-protocol-unix I'm trying to get sound working over Chrome Remote Desktop on Ubuntu 20.04. This is cross-posted from stackoverflow because I wasn't getting any answers there.
